Philippe Coutinho is said to be on the verge of signing for Barcelona

Flush with close to £200million, Barcelona are said to be lining up Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho despite Jurgen Klopp’s objections. Here is the latest on a possible transfer…

Coutinho deal to be wrapped up on Tuesday
Barcelona are confident of landing Philippe Coutinho as early as Tuesday and will reportedly pay £90m for the Brazil international, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Spanish newspaper cites the fact Coutinho did not travel to Dublin to be part of Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao. However, manager Jurgen Klopp said this was not the case, “Phil had back problems yesterday and today so there was no reason for any risks,” he said.

The deal is 95 per cent done
Esporte Interativo, a Brazilian publication, claim the transfer of Coutinho to Barcelona is 95 per cent done, which backs up the belief any deal could be completed as early as Tuesday.

Coutinho to be sold on the ‘cheap’
However, Spanish publication, Sport, say Barcelona will offer Liverpool €90m (roughly £81m) and will schedule a meeting for Tuesday.

Coutinho’s possible new team-mates
It has been reported that Barcelona will meet Jean Seri’s €40m release clause and will also move for Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele in a €70m transfer. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez’s move to the Camp Nou is imminent, with Barca paying €32m.
