Man City will pursue Alexis Sanchez until the end of the transfer window

Alexis Sanchez is set to be the subject of a £70m offer from Man City as Pep Guardiola plots a late raid for the Arsenal contract rebel.

The Gunners forward, 28, has just one year left on his deal at the Emirates Stadium and is yet to come close to agreeing new terms.

Arsene Wenger has made it clear he does not want to sell Sanchez, even though he can leave for free next summer, but City have been targeting him for much of the transfer window.

And Sanchez, who scored 30 goals in all competitions last term, is set to be the subject of a £70m offer from Guardiola’s side in the coming days.

The Mirror claim Guardiola will do all he can to bring Sanchez to the Etihad, even going all the way down to the transfer deadline at 11pm on August 31 to capture his man.

Sanchez has not played for Arsenal this season as he works to reach full fitness; he reported back late to training having been handed extra time off after playing at the Confederations Cup.

And following Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Stoke, Arsenal fans actually think Sanchez SHOULD leave north London, rather than stay with a ‘club full of losers’.
