Mirabelli refutes Conte to AC Milan claims

AC Milan director of football Massimiliano Mirabelli has dismissed suggestions that the Rossoneri are looking to recruit Chelsea’s Antonio Conte as their future head coach.

The Italian has been constantly linked with a return to his homeland with Inter Milan previously credited with an interest in his services.

Conte, 48, signed an improved contract with Chelsea earlier in the summer, but his refusal to extend his deal beyond 2019 has fuelled further speculation over his future.

A recent report from Corriere dello Sport suggested that the Rossoneri could approach Conte to become their new manager in nine months’ time, but Mirabelli has played down the talk.

“We already have a manager and we are not thinking of Conte nor about other managers,” he told Radio Rossonera.

Conte was rumoured to be displeased with the club’s limited spending in the attack last summer and the Blues could look to reinforce their options further in the New Year to please their manager.

As per The Sun, Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez is one of the leading candidates in Chelsea’s winter shortlist, although the Chilean is said to favour a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
