Ciro Immobile‘s agent Marco Sommella has revealed that his client has no intention of pursuing a January move to Chelsea.
A recent report from The Sun suggested that the Blues could make an attempt to sign the 27-year-old as they seek to keep Antonio Conte satisfied at Stamford Bridge.
In response, Sommella revealed that both he and Immobile laughed off speculation – with the striker content with the recent contract renewal.
He told TMW Radio: “We had a good laugh together over that, including the Chelsea rumour. I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank the club [Lazio] for that renewal.”
Immobile, who has previously worked under Antonio Conte with Juventus and Italy, has been in excellent form for Lazio over the past year.
The former Torino man secured his Serie A return from Borussia Dortmund last summer, and he has since amassed 43 goals in just over 50 goals for Lazio in all competitions.
Immobile inked a fresh five-year contract with Lazio earlier this month and he will be aiming to end the club’s 17-year wait for the Serie A title.
