Belgiun midfiedler Radja Nainggolan has insisted he is happy at Roma – despite interest from Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.
The 29-year-old has established himself as one of the best players in Italy since moving to Rome in 2014 and it has led to him being linked with several moves.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed how he tried to sign the Belgian in the past, while more recently Atletico Madrid have shown an interest.
Indeed the Spanish club’s manager, Diego Simeone, said Nainggolan would be “extraordinary” for his team after playing against Roma.
However, the midfielder has now responded to that praise by insisting he is happy where he is for now.
“These are lovely words, but I am focused on Roma,” Nainggolan told Mediaset Premium.
“I think I made the choice I was happy with last year and the year before.
“I am happy to represent this team, I live happily off the field and I see absolutely no reason to change that.
“It’s an honour for me to wear the armband, following the likes of Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi and Alessandro Florenzi.”
