Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are out of contract at the end of the season

Tuesday, November 28, 2017

Arsene Wenger has ruled out Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leaving Arsenal in January.

The duo are out of contract at the end of the season and there have been suggestions the Gunners could decide to cash in on January.

Sanchez was wanted by Manchester City in the summer and they have been tipped to make a fresh move in the New Year, while Ozil has been linked with Manchester United.

But Wenger, who has given not up hope of convincing his star pair to sign new deals, is fully expecting them to remain with the club beyond the January transfer window.

Asked if Sanchez and Ozil will still be at the club on February 1, Wenger said on Tuesday: “They will be here.

“I do not think every day about that, as long as they are here they have to give their best for the team and the club.

“In my head they stay until the end of the season – that was a decision taken at the start of the season.

“Unless something unbelievable happens I don’t think that will change.”
