Simon Mignolet is now Liverpool’s second-choice goalkeeper

Napoli are weighing up a summer swoop for Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The Belgian has fallen down the packing order at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, and is now the Reds’ second-choice glovesman behind Loris Karius.

Liverpool have been linked with several new goalkeepers, including Alisson of Roma, and it means Mignolet’s future at the club is now in doubt.

Naturally the 29-year-old is worried about such a scenario but, according to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli are ready to offer him a route out of Anfield.

The Italian club will be on the hunt for a new goalkeeper in the summer with Pepe Reina set to leave.

The 35-year-old forner Anfield favourite’s current contract in Italy expires at the end of the season and he is yet to pen an extension.

Napoli now want Mignolet to replace Reina when he goes, but they are also monitoring Real Sociedad star Geronimo Rulli and Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno.
