The Ivorian central defender was Jose Mourinho’s first signing as Manchester United manager and enjoyed an impressive debut season at the club, making 38 appearances and helping the club win the League Cup and Europa League. This season he has been restricted to just ten appearances having suffered a serious ankle injury at the start of November. But, at 23, he still has plenty of time on his side and is expected to be mainstay for United for years to come. Verdict: HIT

Jose Mourinho is close to completing his eighth signing as Manchester United manager, with Alexis Sanchez set to join from Arsenal.
United fans appear to be pretty happy at the Chilean’s imminent arrival given Sanchez has been a big hit for their Premier League rivals over the last three years.
But there is no guarantee he will be a success.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was expected to be key signing for the club after being brought in by Mourinho in 2017.
The talented playmaker, though, is now on his way out after just 18 months, with Arsenal looking include the Armenian in any deal for Sanchez.
