Tierney signed a six-year deal with the Hoops but this will not put United off

Manchester United are weighing up Celtic’s Kieran Tierney as a potential replacement for out-of-favour Luke Shaw, according to reports.

United boss Jose Mourinho has publicly criticised the English left-back multiple times and is set to offload Shaw in the summer.

And the Daily Record claims the Red Devils board are pushing to put a bid in for the Scotland international.

United have been linked with Juventus left-back Alex Sandro as well, but Tierney would be the cheaper option despite signing a six-year deal with the Hoops in October.

Tierney has thrived since bursting onto the scene in Glasgow and has over 100 first-team games – including experience in Europe.

He has also operated in a back three for Brendan Rodgers’ league leaders, with his versatility a big plus for Mourinho.

Tierney made his Celtic debut as a teen in 2014 and has been on the radar of several top clubs.
