Man City are NOT plotting a move to sign Real Madrid ace Isco
Manchester City are NOT interested in a summer deal for Real Madrid midfielder Isco, and will instead make another attempt to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester, reports claim.
The Spanish press had suggested Isco was the Blues’ top transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window and that they were preparing a £75million bid for the 25-year-old.
But, according to the Manchester Evening Post, City chiefs have indicated they are not planning a move for the Real Madrid ace.
Pep Guardiola is still searching for attacking reinforcements, though, and it is claimed they will instead launch a second bid to land Algerian playmaker Mahrez.
City failed with a move for the Leicester City star late in the January transfer window, with the Citizens refusing to meet the Foxes’ £95million valuation.
An offer of £60million was rejected by the 2016 Premier League champions and the player ultimately stayed at the King Power Stadium.
However, Mahrez was desperate for the move to go through and it is expected he will push to leave the Foxes again when the transfer window reopens.
