The Toffees appeared to be preparing a £25million bid for the Scottish full-back

Everton have ended their interest in Celtic defender Kieran Tierney.

Tierney, 21, was linked with a move to Goodison Park in the summer as new manager Marco Silva looks to reshape his squad.

The likes of Manchester United and Tottenham have also expressed an interest in the full-back

But the Toffees appear to be turning their attention elsewhere in the search for a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines.

It was thought Everton were prepared to offer around £25million for Tierney, who is under contract with Celtic until 2023.

However, the Hoops are reluctant to let the Scotland international go while Tierney himself appears to be in no hurry to leave.

Tierney has made over 130 appearances for the Scottish champions and has earned nine Scotland caps.

He has won three Premiership titles and three domestic cups with Celtic.
