The former Arsenal man has missed two days of training through the injury and is in a race to be fit

Jack Wilshere is an injury doubt for West Ham United’s clash with Everton on Sunday due to an ankle injury, according to reports.

The England international arrived in east London on a free transfer from Arsenal with a history of troublesome injury problems behind him.

However, after playing 38 times for the Gunners last season, it was hoped his days on the treatment table were over.

But, according to The Daily Mail, the 26-year-old is said to be fighting for fitness after missing two days of training this week.

The Hammers are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table without a win from their opening four games.

New boss Manuel Pellegrini would have hoped to include Wilshere in his squad for the trip to Goodison Park.

The Toffees would be without 12 players on Sunday afternoon after an injury and suspension crisis has rocked the club.

Club-record signing Richarlison is still suspended following his red card at Bournemouth and Seamus Coleman has suffered a stress fracture on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
